On Friday, August 12, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), sending the bill to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law. The IRA has been heralded by some as “game changer” climate legislation, and will have sweeping implications for the energy industry. Sidley Energy and Environmental, Tax, Regulatory, and Policy professionals hosted a roundtable discussion to unpack the legislation and its impacts with special guest C.J. Osman, a Professional Staff Member for Chairman Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources. This webinar focused on the legislation’s changes and expected impact on the renewable energy and fossil fuels industries and projects and permitting infrastructure, with an emphasis on hydrogen and carbon capture investments.
